I write concerning this world and the world to come with the utmost concern for your soul. I do not write simply to offend but because I believe many are in danger, terrible danger, and my only desire is that they escape the danger of what is far more dreadful than anything we can imagine: eternal damnation.

I became a Christian over a decade ago, when God opened my eyes to the reality that there is more to this life than merely living in it and for ourselves. I have found eternal life in the Lord Jesus Christ and it has been my hope and prayer that others will also gain everlasting peace and rest in Him before the end.

Up until my conversion, I had lived just as any typical person in our country, living my life as I saw fit, doing what I personally decided was good and worthwhile. I may have called myself a Christian but I knew absolutely nothing about the Bible, or how the Holy Scriptures define Christianity. I had no higher authority than myself, and I lived for nothing other than myself. I essentially ran my life as though I were my own god, answering to no one but myself. This is likely true of you, too, and if that is the case, then in that respect there is no difference between us. However, you have not yet been converted. You still live your life as you see fit. You do not recognize or submit to Christ's authority as it is revealed in the Holy Scriptures, and you neither know nor practice His commandments. If such things are true of you, then it is my hope and prayer that you will be convinced of your desperate need to bend the knee before Christ as King, before the opportunity to do so passes you by forever.

Judgment is coming

God has created all things—the universe, this earth, man, and beast. And of all that He has created—all the galaxies, the stars, the lands, the oceans, the creatures of the sky, earth, and sea—only man, along with a host of angels, has defied the Creator to His face. God has every right, both as Creator of all things and as Lord over His creation, to issue His law and demand obedience, but man refuses to do what God requires and stubbornly indulges in what God forbids. God also has the right to judge His creatures, and He has appointed a day on which He will do just that, once He has brought this world to an end. All who have broken God's law will be held accountable and there will be no exceptions whatsoever. There will be nothing but strict, unyielding, and ruthless justice executed in that day. Every single sin will be discovered and punished. God will consign every law-breaker to the fire of hell, but each one who surrendered to Him and submitted themselves to His authority during their lives will be received into eternal life.

You are in terrible danger

Here is the danger you are in: you are a law-breaker and you do not recognize God's authority. You have filled your life with an innumerable amount of sins and you will be held accountable for each and every one of them. You may have forgotten them but God has not. You do not honor God as your Creator, do not submit to Him as your King, nor do you fear Him as your Judge. You need to realize that as soon as you die and leave this world, you will immediately enter into a place of torment and there, in agony, you will await the day of judgment. On that day, when everyone will be raised from the dead to stand in resurrected bodies before the Holy Judge, you will have your sins exposed before all, you will be judged in perfect righteousness by the Lord Jesus Christ (whom you refused to love, trust, obey, and follow), and you will be found guilty. The Judge will be unsparing in damning you to hell, and true to His Word, you will be thrown into the lake of fire and spend eternity in that awful place. Please do not dismiss this or refuse to believe it; it is exactly what is going to happen to you if you continue on the path you are on. If you disregard this, you will spend eternity remembering these words and cursing yourself for not taking heed to them.

Jesus is our only hope

But there is good news. Here is what makes the Lord Jesus so lovely to sinners who surrender to His authority. What I just described will be the fate of every single individual in this world—past, present and future—if left to themselves. All of us are born with a fallen, sinful nature which makes us love everything God hates and hate everything God loves. But instead of condemning every rebellious sinner to hell like they deserve, God has made a way for sinners to escape the awful judgment and damnation that awaits. He has provided this way at great cost to Himself, by agreeing to come to this sin-cursed world in order to take upon Himself human flesh. The Lord Jesus Christ has created all things, and has entered into His creation through the womb of a virgin. He was born in order to take away the sins of His people.

He became a man in order to live a sinless life and accomplish perfect righteousness that God requires. He came to this earth to die, so that He could take upon Himself the guilt of His people, to bear their sins upon His own shoulders, and to take the punishment that they deserved, in order to set them free. Jesus was hated by the world, owing to its hell-bent hatred toward God, and they persecuted and ultimately crucified Him. And as He hung on the cross, the wrath and justice of God was poured out upon His soul. Because He is God, He was able to absorb and satisfy infinite justice, and since He became man, He was able to suffer and die in the place of sinners. He was buried and on the third day He rose again from the grave. His resurrection proved that His sacrifice was worthy and accepted by God, and it validated all of His claims. Jesus ascended on high and is now ruling over all things. Salvation from sin is available only in Christ, because only He accomplished it. There is salvation found nowhere else. This is why every other religion is false and leads to hell.

Now there is a way for sinners to be rescued from their sins, to have their sins washed away forever, to receive the perfect righteousness of God which He requires, and to escape everlasting damnation in hell—if they embrace Christ and come to Him on His terms of peace. This is the only way to be saved. Christ requires that men repent and turn from their sins—to turn from living a life as they see fit and to begin living the life that He commands and directs. He bids men to stop obeying themselves and to give themselves to obeying Him. He requires that men believe in Him alone for the hope of being saved from sin—not believing in themselves or their deeds, or in false gods and false saviors, but to believe and trust in Him and His work alone.

Flee from everything that keeps you from Christ

This is where you yet lack. You have not surrendered over all to Christ, you have not given your life to Him. You still live for yourself, doing as you see fit. You still practice sin and disobedience against God; you still live life as though life is not about doing everything to the honor and glory of God alone. And because of this, if you die in this state, you will rightly be condemned. You will appear on the day of judgment without a Savior. Christ will meet you in that day as a Judge only, and not as a Savior, and He will be ruthless in executing justice against you. But you do not have to appear before Him in this way. You can find in Him a Savior and a gracious Redeemer, but you must bow before Him as your King, and own Him as your God. I plead with you, turn to Christ and believe His words. Do whatever it takes to turn from your sins and to follow after Him, at all costs, and do it quickly, because time is running out. The day will soon arrive when Christ will separate His sheep from the goats. Christ saved me and by His grace, I turned from my old life and avoid it like the plague, for it is deadly and will lead me to hell. So likewise, your own way will do the same for you; it promises you great success, pleasure, and prosperity, but it's only a lie—you're headed to unimaginable misery and devastation! Turn from your wicked ways, be saved from this perverse generation! Come to Christ, quickly. You can have all your sins and crimes against God washed away forever. But it will come at a cost—you will have to deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Christ.

Matthew 16:24-27 Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and will then repay every man according to his deeds."

Choose today whom you will serve and follow, and consider the outcome of your decision: Christ, and all the riches of eternal life and glory which He promises; or yourself, and all your sins and the consequences to follow.

Matthew 7:13-14 Jesus said, "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it."

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.
